Monetary Donations
Your donation enables the Museum to continue its vital role in
the preservation, presentation, and interpretation of our area's
history. It is a preservation not only of material culture, but
also of the stories, memories, and contributions of the people who
have lived in this area.
DONATIONS
The Museum gratefully receives monetary donations throughout the
year. Donors may wish to designate their donation to any of several
specific funds:
- General Operations - This money is spent on
the day-to-day operations of the museum and includes such things as
educational programming, purchases for our reference library,
conservation, staff training, and building maintenance.
- Exhibition and Collection Development Fund -
This fund supports the acquisition and display of museum
artifacts.
- Heritage Fund - This fund was established
specifically for the acquisition and restoration of museum
artifacts.
Recognition of donors is made in the Museum's newsletter. As
well, all donations of $10 or more are acknowledged with an income
tax receipt.
IN MEMORIAM AND IN HONOUR DONATIONS
If you would like to make a donation to the Museum in memory or
to honour a loved one, please indicate whom the donation
commemorates, the name and address of the person to whom
acknowledgment should be sent, and to whom the income tax receipt
should be sent. In Memoriam envelopes for the Lake of the Woods
Museum are available at both local funeral homes, and at the
Museum.
BEQUESTS
By remembering the Lake of the Woods Museum in your will, you
can leave a legacy that supports your interests in our community's
heritage. Bequests allow you to retain control of your assets
during your lifetime, but give you the knowledge that the Lake of
the Woods Museum will later benefit from your generosity.
