The City of Kenora Clerk’s Office maintains a registry of by-laws and amendments enacted by Council that have wide application within the City of Kenora. By-laws which may be of interest to the public are usually of the regulatory type such as: Animal Control, Parking, Traffic, Fences, Noise Control, Property Standards, Signs, Debris, etc.
The City upholds several by-laws to protect your health, safety and peace. Visit the following pages to find out more about these by-laws, keeping in mind some may have been amended. Check out the by-law index to view a list of by-laws in numeric order or search on a keyword for something specific.
All by-laws and amendments are officially adopted by Mayor and Council within the jurisdiction of the Provincial Statutes of Ontario. Typically if the provincial government has set down a law, the City does not adopt a by-law for enforcement as the matter would be governed by that particular Act. You may wish to visit the provincial government e-laws website to view a comprehensive list of Ontario Statutes and Regulations.
Follow the by-law link section to view/print any by-laws from the year 2000 to present, or upon payment of the appropriate fee, the Clerk’s Office will provide hard copies of the by-laws.
Please note that for the most part, only the by-laws are available on-line and not any referred to attachments. You may also go to the Frequently Requested By-laws section to find a particular by-law.
